Doesn't this just open up the age old debate of the media over reporting Qantas related incidents which in most cases are just routine for any major airline. For example, thebasource.com recently reported a British Airways 747 that had to shut down an engine over Algeria. I can see no mention of this on the BBC News website. The SMH would have that as headline news if it was a QF plane involved. The media factor into the equation for sure.
