Some questions though - did you buy a business class fare? What cabin did you get to select seats in? Is it a CO codeshare you're booked on?

Unfortunately, I think the simplest explanation here is that E was used by some CO partner in the past as a business class fare, and CO.com is displaying it incorrectly.
