I believe lounges are open from 5am. Last time I spent an hour or so in the Louis Tavern Lounge (complimentary access via Diners Club card).

Given a choice I would prefer 2-2-2 config - but the seats (lie-flat) are the same on both 2-2-2 and 2-3-2 configured B777's.
