However, they will allow me to bring in other guests, staying in other rooms or other hotels, and charge a la carte for drinks, etc. This is the same if you use the meeting rooms in the lounge.
Did your wife stay in the same room as you?
If so, she can access the lounge without charge. Looks like they do follow SPG rules.
