You don't really get it. The MM program is a reward for achieving a specified # of miles. If a CO customer has EARNED the required miles for that status, I have absolutely no problem with that. If the OP wants Plat status, achieve the specified # of miles. It is that simple. Or should CO also give him (or me) MM status because of his (or my) past flying patterns and project that we might make a million miles some day?

There aren't that many MMs on any given 2-cabin plane, so that's not who I am primarily battling with for upgrades. It's the people who have not earned their current status the hard way (ie BIS) that are annoying to have to compete with. The # of Plats has gone down effective March 1st, and it's definitely nice to see a high percentage (at every level) of elites who have actually earned their status w/o the DEQM nonsense..
