My personal moral and ethical code would allow me to equate placing a lap-entitled toddler onto a neighbouring free seat to placing an under-the-seat-in-front-of-you entitled bag onto it (or indeed in the case of CW, an in-the-inaccessible-laptop-drawer bag).

Next week I shall scandalise you all by recounting my habits of using blankets and pillows from neighbouring free seats, as well as my shameless practice of activating their IFE screens and tuning it to the moving map, so I can watch a film at the same time on my own...
