I actually tried a Suntory brand once (a younger one though), but I don't remember it as being anything special.
The top shelf Japanese whiskies are really good. They approach whiskey making with that particular Japanese fanaticism about quality and attention to detail. I'd be very happy if I found a bottle of Hibiki on any of my flights.
