Also, if I have 25,000 points, how much will I need to redeem for a domestic US ticket, such as round trip ORD-JFK? I read that you may need like 30,000 points for a round trip standard ticket if I am reading correctly, so please shed me some light.
There is no such thing as a CO or UA saver award with OZ. The saver awards you are talking about are for people who use CO or UA miles to fly CO or UA. When using OZ points only the points table from the OZ website matters. Whatever you read on united.com has no relevance for OZ.
To fly ORD-JFK and back you weed 35,000 miles (yes, you begin to realise that OZ has one of the worst earn/burn rates in the world).
However, flying ORD-YYZ-JFK-MCO-ORD will also only cost you 35,000 miles and that is really good value.
