As a result of your status, you can use the 500-mile electronic stickers to upgrade -- your window opens 72 hours prior to departure. MIA-CUN will be 1 sticker per passenger, DFW-CUN will be 2 stickers, JFK-CUN will be 4 stickers.

If you just got matched and don't have any stickers, you can purchase them -- I think they're $30 each.

You've already mentioned the mileage option.

As far as the SWU goes -- yes, AA has them. If you just got comped status and don't fly AA much, chances are you don't have any to use... And it would be a terrible waste of one, IMHO .
