Just to clarify one thing I was told, it has to be an AA flight, or an AA codeshare on CX or BA ONLY, no other codeshares count.

And, IMO, given that one must demonstrate they are actually a high volume flyer to even be eligible, I don't think you will see too many unintended consequences or real dilution. I think it will be a good thing for AA if it brings over just a few high revenue people from other airlines. I personally would have made EXP by the middle of the year anyway, so it's not a real game changer in my case, but it is nice.
