I read the terms and it seems to allow for refund within 24 hours on exceptional basis, but it requires documentation.
Maybe I was just lucky on those occasions to find a nice ticketing agent at T5 who was willing to move me to a later flight... On both occasions I missed check-in by 5 minutes and on one I had a valid excuse (M4 shut) and on the other I had a less valid excuse (drunkenly overslept)...
