Just how does one efffectively communicate with Uncle Bob?</font>
From my experience??
He sometimes communicates with you, but the other direction you are never sure he is listening. The man is brilliant as an airline planner and is unbeatable when it comes to building a schedule and utilizing airplanes. We often said he was AC's greatest asset. At the same time his inability to surround himself with talented deputies and to then let them do there jobs makes him AC's biggest liability.
An example of his inability to communicate with his troops is one particular time after a meeting with him, I was approached by two other people from the same meeting and we had three different viewpoints on what he wanted and how he wanted the decision implemented.
