I wouldn't boycott the hotel over the fee as I don't think I've ever requested extra glasses or anything similar. This isn't a perishable item but an item that could easily be provided by housekeeping as the folks that are responsible for the rest of the stuff in the room save the minibar. But I do stand by the fee being outrageous though perhaps ridiculous would be a better choice. It isn't the amount of the fee that is the issue but there being a fee at all.
I also don't think that they have poor customer service as they are here on FT responding to comments and questions. That is a huge ^^ in my book.
