1. 'Just check in at the business class line, its about as much "priority security" as you can get. The WTMD/X-ray security is almost never a wait more than a couple of minutes.'
I'll be departing in Y (economy). Can I still CI at the business counter (being a *G)?.
2. 'If you're *G on *A then you are also entitled to a pass to the Dan lounge, but you need to get the invite from the airline you're flying.'
Wouldn't showing my *G card at the Dan lounge entrance be enough? or do I need to obtain some kind of a voucher from the airline?.
Thanks.
If you arent flying in BusinessFirst then its a very good chance they wont let you down the far left lane for BF passengers
You MUST 1st undergo the Security check before you can approach the checkin counters, even if all you have is a carry-on or two. The checkin counter will send you to the back of the Security line before even talking to you once they see you havent been thru it. Also even if you by passed the checkin counters , no way will you be allowed passed the airports doors so as to make your way to the departure area of the term, if they dont see the necessary stamps and proof that you under went the Security check
You can try saying you forgot your BP in your hotel room, but these people are trained to find those who arent telling them the truth sort of like a lie detector machine, if caught you better have a few hours before your flight is to depart as you will need every sec of it, and wont have to worry about how to get into the Lounge as you wont have any time to use it. this is in regards to the Security check before you can get to the check-in counters
So if you do go up the Business lane when its your turn just explain that you dont have any bags other then your carry-on and was hoping that as a *G (they wont have any idea what it is dont waste your time explaining other than to say in the US it allows you to use the Business lanes) and follow whatever they tell you to do w/o protesting
now the checkin counters are Economy/Elite (Gold & Plat)/Business if not flying BF the person who checks to make sure you are flying BF may tell you to step over to the Elite counter instead, who btw can issue you the pass for the Dan Lounge as well. No pass no entry to the lounge as the pass is turned in I believe in order for them to be paid
all this was as of last Sept and I dont believe things have changed any, I also based it on flying on CO. If you are flying on US then your checkin is not on the Departure level but on the Arrival level where LH,LO,LX etc etc have their counters and its rent a crew , CO has their own employees. I believe the 1st Class/Business lane is on the Right side
No matter where you check in dont expect anyone except at the actual CO counters to know what *G is all about, especially say if its due to your status with UA as UA doesnt fly into TLV so they just might think you are trying to pull a fast one.
I believe that only CO and ElAl have their own employees manning their check-in counters. Heck show up way too early and you will find some other Carrier having its name all over the counters CO uses.Thusly why I say you cant expect thiose working the counters other then by CO to know the score with *As rules. They can be checking in US today and tommorrow at the same time be working KLM flight counter
