I may be wrong, but if Amex was picking up 50% of the tab why not just double the previous requirements to earn a free weekend. Yeah, it's not perfect for many but either is life. I would push myself to get the extra nights if I needed to during a promo like this. Free weekends are awesome.

It won't work for everyone, and it might not even work for me, but why throw away the opportunity because not everyone will make it. Not every promotion will be attainable by the masses.
