Hyatt doesn't have stockholders looking over their shoulder at every dime they spend. They also have significantly fewer hotels to deal with, but the ones they do have they can pretty much tell them to do whatever they want.

In the past, we had American Express on board as a partner for the Free Weekends promotion, and even though the Terms and Conditions said pay with an American Express card to qualify, many people didn't. Then there was the outcry that went up from members complaining about having to use an American Express card. Probably they got tired of pitching in where it wasn't doing them any good and I can't say I blame them.
