Identifying aircraft must be much more difficult than laymen like us could possibly understand. My last landing at LHR (~2 weeks ago) was at B-gate, but it was sadly setup for a 777, so we had to wait for 20min or so for them to set it up for the correct aeroplane. Incidentally, I wonder if BA have ever done the JNB route on anything than a 747.
