Do this:

Buy SFO-ICN (stop) - SIN (or-HKT) // open-jaw // HKG-SFO on on SQ.

From SIN, go to TG website, and check fares for oneway, SIN-HKT-BKK-HKG or else SIN-BKK-HKG. From BKK, do sidetrip with TG or Air Asia.

Compare TG fares from HKT-BKK-HKG or HKT-BKK with TG or Air Asia.
From BKK-HKG, you may take either TG (more expensive if oneway) than Air Asia or even Emirates.
