Ah... the ever controversial comparisons!

As mentioned by others, it is sometimes really hard to compare like for like as services vary by aircraft (especially seating, also AVOD), service band (very long haul vs long haul, regular departure vs red eye), direction (from or to hub), and... luck. I personally find comparisons of crew 'friendliness' rather absurd. It's not as if some airlines recruited 'nice' crew and others 'horrible' ones - human beings come in all shapes and sizes and there is no airline for which I would ever say 'this airline has nasty crew in general'. Anyway, if I were to give my own individual rankings for long haul J, I would go for the following for the airlines I have flown at least twice in the past 12 months:
SEAT (no 1 criterion for me):
Excellent: BA, QF, KE (new), DL (new), VS, LX (new), AZ (new), TK (new), US (new)
Good: KE (old), SU, AF, TK (old), MK, UA (new), KL, UX, LX (old), EK
Mediocre: UA (old), US (old), DL (old), AZ (old)
FOOD - Main meal:
Outstanding: TK (especially from IST and better than) EK
Very good to excellent: QF, KE, DL, SU
Good: LX, AF, BA, KL, VS, AZ (since revamping)
Mediocre: AZ (when 'old' service), UX, UA, US, MK
FOOD - Second meal:
Excellent: QF, KE, DL
Good: UA, US, BA, TK, LX, EK, MK, KL
Mediocre to poor: AF, VS, AZ, SU, UX
DRINKS:
Excellent: KE
Very good: EK, QF, TK
OK to Good: AF, LX, SU, BA
Mediocre: DL, MK, KL, VS
Poor: AZ, UX, US, UA
BLANKETS, PILLOWS, HEADPHONES, AND AMENITIES:
Excellent: TK, BA, QF, EK, DL, VS
Good: UA, SU, MK, AF, KE (but poor headphones), LX
Mediocre: AZ, KL, US, UX
VIDEO:
Excellent: QF, KE, EK, BA, VS
Very good: AF new (I know, many people don't like it, I like its inclusion of artsy films)
Good: TK, LX, KL, DL, UA, US
Mediocre: SU (depending on planes), AF on 744, AZ, UX, MK
LOUNGES:
Excellent: BA, VS, QF
Good: AF, KE, TK, EK
Mediocre to poor: LX, KL, DL, UA, US, AZ, UX, SU, MK
AIRPORT SERVICES ESPECIALLY SERVICE IN CASE OF IRROPS/PROBLEMS (my second main criterion):
Excellent: KE, QF
Good: EK, AZ
Mediocre to poor: AF, BA, KL, TK, VS, UX, SU, MK, UA, US, DL, LX
PS: needless to say I expect others to disagree vibrantly, I just don't think there is a one size fit all long haul J product. Still, I'd love to hear of (1) anyone who doesn't think fully flat is better than 'lie flat'/angled, (2) anyone who disagrees that TK J food ex-IST is head and shoulders above European competitors (with possible exception of OS but haven't flown them long haul recently).
