I agree that there are certain people who misuse the upgrade privileges in the past.

Case in point, we just travelled to Dallas and I didn't have any paper certs, my wife did. So I waited until 4 day windows and requested only for my wife. I wold never have thought to request an upgrade knowing full well I couldn't use it.

However, in my case, there is currently upgrade space available. So any E member can get this upgrade. I have already upgraded so the space is already spoken for.

As well, I am assuming that wait listed requests do not then take me out of my fare class and I can cancel anytime without penalty?

Guess I need to spend 4 hours to learn the ins and outs....
