In most Hiltons the executive room is very similar. Perhaps some upgraded furnishing, but very similar. In my experience, quieter. The lounge for a lite dinner and a lite breakfast is perfect, and worth it. That is what you are paying for, generally, in an executive room. To get that for free, as a Gold or Diamond, seems worthwhile. What were you expecting, a suite?
This is my first time on the executive floor, so am not sure about an evening meal. The hot breakfast was already included in my rate negotiated by my company, and I have a per day food allowance that I can use to eat anywhere that I want, as long as I do not exceed that limit. Maybe I would take advantage of the dinner meal in the exec lounge once in a while, but it is not a big perk - for my situation.

Ha Ha - no was not expecting a suite. Frankly, I have been upgraded to a suite before at the Grand Hyatt in SF with my diamond status, and the extra space was useless. I think I expected a slightly better decor or just a bit more space - like 25% bigger. Since the "upgrade" is clearly not an upgrade - I would rather add the 1,000 bonus points on each stay.

My negotiated rate also includes free Internet.

Everybody's needs are different. For me, I'll take the standard room from now on and the points.
