I would like to surprise my good lady for her birthday with a trip to Copenhagen from Glasgow flying business class. Don’t want to waste too many miles as I'm planning a big blow out next year somewhere further afield. So the decisions are...
  • do I pay economy (£540) and use upgrade vouchers
  • do I use miles and cash for business and pay £300 and only use 18,000 miles
  • do I use miles for business £97 but use up 36,000 miles
  • do I use miles and cash for economy and pay £237 and use 12000
  • do I use miles for economy and pay £97 and use 24,000
  • do I use miles + cash for economy and use upgrade vouchers
  • should i keep vouchers for a bigger trip

Would appreciate any input on the best way to go about this...

Cheers,

Fly Economy using cash and access the lounges using your *G card. Sometimes the prices for GLA-CPH-LHR might be cheaper on flysas or lh.com rather than flybmi even though it's for the same flight.

Keep the points for a trip further a field in C. Maybe a romantic trip to Tbilisi on bmi - this would cost you a very similar amount of miles and tax. Obviously means you need to get to LHR somehow though.
