We are extremely sorry that you experienced some inconveniences in your room attendance; the manner of the operator shows a lack of attention and supervision that it is certainly not representative of our usual standards of service and that has been directed to the Guest Service Manager for immediate corrective action.

Please allow me to explain that it has been in our standard practice to charge THB 100 per time for any extra cutlery that needs to be delivered to the guest rooms incase guests did not order any food from our room service.
However, there will be no charges on extra cutlery incase guests have ordered food from our room service and no charges incase there are infants in room.

Once again, thank you for your comment; our Senior Management team has been informed and we will certainly follow up on this issue with our constant effort to create memorable experiences for our guests to enjoy in the future.

Kind regards,
Chatklao Jesdabodi,

Thank you Khun Chatklao for your response. ^

Please help convey to the appropriate management staff that I personally do not feel that this charge is fair, nor is it a good idea. I am sure the resort has its reasons for having implemented this charge, but from a guests' point of view it raises many question marks... and question marks tend to ruin holidays.

If the delivery of cutlery items/glasses incur significant additional variable costs that MUST be covered for, I would suggest that this be priced into the overall room rate.

It may also be worth noting that I (& many of us platinums) have not experienced such charges in other hotels/resorts (with the exception of Le Parker Meridien in New York which has suffered its share of beatings on flyertalk for the same reason). From a recent memory, I had ordered six wine glasses and a decanter to my room at a South Korean *W property (i.e. higher labor costs) at no charge.

Thank you
