I got married here in Feb for which I was upgraded to the oceanfront suite. When I called the service line and asked for two extra glasses to the room, I was told that it would cost me something like THB 180.00 each to have two empty glasses delivered.
I politely told the operator that I had not heard of this in any other Thai hotels/resorts in the past... and also given that I had just spent tens of thousands of dollars on my wedding at the resort it felt odd to be charged for using two empty glasses.
To this the operator tried to convince me that it still had to be paid for... and when I pressed the issue the second time he reluctantly told me that he would "check with his manager" and get back to me soon.
We waited for his return call throughout the night, which never came. We ended up having to share the glasses with each other...
My take? call me cheap, but personally, until I have the assurance that this charge is removed, I will not return to this resort (yes, even if this is the resort that I got married in). Quite disappointed with this initiative (new?) from a resort that I have been very pleased with over the last 5+ stays.
And yes, needless to say, also disappointed with the operator that gave me assurance that he will get back to me and then disappeared. I really expected more from this resort, and this was not just because it was my wedding day.
Dear Mr. Ha,
Thank you for sharing your comments about your recent stay at Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa. We are extremely sorry that you experienced some inconveniences in your room attendance; the manner of the operator shows a lack of attention and supervision that it is certainly not representative of our usual standards of service and that has been directed to the Guest Service Manager for immediate corrective action.
Please allow me to explain that it has been in our standard practice to charge THB 100 per time for any extra cutlery that needs to be delivered to the guest rooms incase guests did not order any food from our room service.
However, there will be no charges on extra cutlery incase guests have ordered food from our room service and no charges incase there are infants in room.
Once again, thank you for your comment; our Senior Management team has been informed and we will certainly follow up on this issue with our constant effort to create memorable experiences for our guests to enjoy in the future.
Kind regards,
Chatklao Jesdabodi,
