Actually the truth is that QF releases inventory both paid and award at 355 days prior to departure. That AA's systems and AAdvantage's T&Cs can only handle bookings up to 330 days prior to departure is a limitation of AA and nothing to do with QF leaving dregs for others. BA , for example iiirc, members can also book awards at the same time prior to departure.
Perhaps it would be good if AA addressed the limitation in their systems that leaves them lagging 25 days behind on being able to do inventory
