Has anyone successfully used one of these?

I was booking a hotel that was coming up at $59 for next weekend. When I entered the code that is required to use this $10 coupon the lowest price that came up was $109.

I KNOW. The lawyers made out, but this is ridiculous. I wouldn't have been surprised if the rate using this code was $10 higher (though disappointed), but $50 higher? I'm shocked.
