Yeah, it didn't work.

My immigration guy asked me if I was travelling alone - I pointed at you at the next booth and explained (deflecting attention from my own rather miserable state) that we hadn't been fed on board - and he said, rather loudly, "Yeah, that'll do it!".

To this day, it's the only time I've ever drunk an airplane dry. I vaguely recall a pincer movement in the forward galley to get that British FA to check in the rear galley of the 747 for any remaining lager. She found 1, didn't she? I love that airline.
