I've had two upgrades fail to clear so far in CY 2011. One was LAS-JFK, the other was LAX-JFK. If this is how my year's going to go, I'm worried. I'm EXP now, but if I didn't re-qualify, I've got lifetime PLT. If that's not enough to get me upgraded consistently on a transcontinental flight on AA, which is mostly what I fly, I'd rather be upgraded less frequently, but sleep soundly knowing that I'm going to have legroom in coach no matter what.
