I have been trying to change seats on MMB but each time I save the changes I am getting an error message saying call BA.

I have just spent 25 minutes calling BAEC and being put on hold only to be told that they can't seem to make the changes either. The rep has said this sometimes happens when the local airport (BGI in my case) locks seats on the flight for their own reasons. Is this true? I cannot make any seating changes whatsoever despite the seats showing as available on the seating plan.

The flight is the BGI to LGW this Sunday. I'm just annoyed that I've been kept on hold on my mobile calling from Barbados for 25 minutes to the UK with no resolution and I'm not sure I believe that the local airport locks the seating plan??? Does anyone know?
