LAX-EWR can't be doing that well if they are downgauging to a 737. Perhaps yields will be better on the 737 vs the 757. Also, they've had a slew of cancellations earlier this month on the EWR run.
While its a downgauging in terms of seat count, seems like an improvement in terms of seat quality at least. I much prefer the SEA-JFK 268/269 flights this winter on a 738 over the 757s that I've flown on that route before. It's changing back to 757s soon and I'm not looking forward to it.
