One can't possibly justify them on the basis of average paid fares on partners, either. I seriously doubt avg pd fares SHA-URC on CZ approach KE fares ICN-SYD.
#2: CA?!? Joining ST? Do you know something we don't?
#3: I was never that heavy in miles like some of you certified Road Warriors, but in spring 2009 I booked rt's PEK-PNH and PEK-SYX on CZ for summer and fall (Natl Day hols) 2009. In Dec 2009 I cashed out the rest of the wad and booked PEK-KUL on MH and PEK-BKK for 2010 trips for ChNewYr and for late spring. What was nice was except for MH which required taxes and YQ totalling about USD $90 for the rt, the other flights only had to pay cash out of pocket for the RMB 90/50 intl/dom Chinese departure tax. And no stupid discriminatory Intl Origination Surcharges. Thank you,
Northwest, and goodnight.
Oops, meant CI, not CA. Sorry. Just when thought things were looking good for DL and ST in China (they have the strongest presence and mix when CI and MU join) I find out I am wrong as redemptions just went up all over the board.
Ah, NWA was the good old days. They listened to customers, gave great perks, and kept strong loyalty. They were the strongest program for US fliers based in Asia and I know Asia based elites loved them...
