You could also just take the ICE Train to cologne, it's just an hour from FRA and if booked in advanced quite affordable.

I recently booked flight from FRA to AMS for 88 Euro, don't know if you have been in AMS but this could also be an option.

Or have a real adventure ..... Take the Bus to Hahn get on a FR flight to STN and back
