I would hire a cheap car (SIXT has sometimes some convertible as a special).
Then explore the Surrounding.
- Rhine Valley, Loreley,
- Taunus - Feldberg
- Wiesbaden,...

Or: With 14 hours you can easily fit in a short detour to Berlin with some cheap flights
