Back in my favorite city

Hello All,
Back in Melbourne
and the weather is perfect!
I checked in today and all is well here at the South Wharf Hilton
There is a large group in house and I suspect its an art show?
There is art everywhere in the lobby and throughout the hotel.
Its almost cluttered. It competes with a sea of luggage
The hotel was sold out of my preferred room type However I am coping happily with my otherwise nice guest room.

There are brand new first class premium Dell computers in the club lounge ^
Dolphin is still up in the lounge and she is still doing a lovely job looking after guests along with the other nice team members.
They have expanded the evening spread with more improved choices and I enjoyed the coconut shrimp tonight.
That said they were also soggy from being in a steam table.

On the somewhat downside for some it is my understanding they no longer have any hot offerings in the club lounge at breakfast except on Sat and Sunday
Continental only. Not a problem for me.Update:Information from associate not entirely correct there are hot pancakes and eggs on weekend
and the breakfast ranks up there as any Hilton goes falling behind Prague as the baking quailty isn't as good or for that matter the Grand Hyatt Melbourne
Breads are very nice. And I love the idea of a juice extractor so guest can make fresh carrot juice or with another machine squeeze resh orage juice.Brilliant!
A great creative way to make use of this great space and make for a fresher and more inviting breakfast.........

The Grand Hyatt has a a surcharge that allows Club guests to use the extensive hot and cold buffett in the lobby. The breakfast at the Hyatt was excellent as was the club lounge^ Though many will be happy without full hot options it would be nice if the Hilton Melbourne had such an option

My only other slight concern so far is with housekeeping on the 16th floor they seem to be spraying a bit to heavy handed too many scents/household cleaners in the hallways lowering the quality standard of air in the guest hallways.
The Hyatt which I just came from has a much better standard in the public areas yet the hotel is much older
The Hilton South Wharf is still a new hotel and I hope they can correct the issue its such a wonderful hotel.

Other observations
The menu downstairs @ Nuevo37 restaurant seems to have much better focus and direction then last year.I can't say if the quality is any better.
I did a lunch last year and it was dreadful.Perhaps I'll give it one more shot and roll the dice

A salute and congratulations to Mr.Bourne the GM
The team seems happy on board there has been some retention of team members
The breakfast is better with more interesting options than a year ago ^
Its great to be back at one of my favorite Hiltons in the world

Cheers
