SPG is somewhat trapped in the middle of this. It's not like they aren't giving you a room, but if the current worsens and they don't have a room available for you (not because it's occupied, but because it's not even accessible to give you), what do you want them to do?

Don't you think it's better for them to tell you now rather than when you turn up and they tell there is no room and the rest of the city is full?

I'm sure they don't want to turn away business at possibly the busiest period for them in years...
