I think most EXPs have extremely good luck with waitlisted SWUs clearing before the day of departure. If you don't want to wait, I doubt you'll be much happier at UA, although based on your handle I take it you've already given DL a whirl, so perhaps you should finish the trifecta and decide which legacy best fits your needs through your own first-hand experience rather than taking the word of others.
