So you've never waitlisted for any eVIP upgrades?

I'd say very few of my eVIP attempted uses would clear at time of ticketing. All have been TATL or TPAC. But I've yet to miss out on one. The only one I'm at risk of for this calendar year is from NRT-ORD in 2 weeks due to last minute booking on the cheap NRT fares. Even with that I'm still holding out hope that it'll clear before the return. If not, at least I'm in row 31 for the flight.

Edit to Add: Regarding Star, don't they required a higher fare bucket to even consider a SWU upgrade and even then its not guaranteed? I really like the AA policy of being able to upgrade any fare class.
