11 years and 11 months as a plat and I've never been walked. i've asked a few times when the hotel says they're full but i've never been taken up on my offer.

that said, i can recall a few times over the years when a different hotel would have been out of the way and inconvenient but hey, that's what the free nights and $$$ are meant to compensate for...

if you didn't get what you're owed, i'd give the hotel a call and ask for them to honor the guarantee and if they don't give you satisfaction, a call higher up the food chain is in order.
