PC is primarily an earning and burning programme - the real benefit is amassing large numbers of points to spend in a €400/night IC much quicker than you could in other progammes. Platinum gets you 50% bonus on base points, and the odd nice HI/CP upgrade.

As others have said, if you want benefits in an IC, you need Ambassador.
