striking cutbacks NRT-SIN

The start of HND-SIN service has created some striking shortages on JL NRT-SIN. Not uncommon to see C0 J0 D0 3+ weeks out on JL719 NRT-SIN, even as NH, UA, and NW all have inventory. It seems one daily 767 with 30 J seats just isn't enough for this route. It's certainly a far cry from service of just a year ago.

For an AA passenger, arriving (e.g.) JFK-NRT, there's also no same-day same-airport connection onwards to SIN. Can take the bus to HND, or accept a forced overnight -- losing quite a bit of time either way.

What have others done to make the best of this? Move to other carriers and routings? But then it's hard to use AA systemwides...

In a related twist, on one day I'm looking at (March 18), JL 719 shows C0 J0 D0 X0 I0, but BA 4609 (codeshare on the same plane) shows J9 C9. What to make of that? For whatever it's worth, the seatmap shows five vacant seats and one blocked seat.
