I respectfully have to disagree.... I have been consistently upgraded at Crowne Plazas so there is some value there. Once even when I booked using Priceline
My best friend doesn't have Ambassador but is Plat with PC and has received upgrades at IC's.
But, if you are that unhappy about the whole thing then you might want to consider not staying at a PC property
