I had a little over an hour connection so made sure to pack light. Someone here will know, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to claim and re-check any bags after the first leg.

Why can't the bags be checked all the way to LGA? How is it different from traveling on a different airline that interlines with UA so that the bags can be through-checked even on different tix?
