I flew back to the states Christmas eve 2010. The poor guy in front of me had to give up his unopened bought air side bottle of water at the secondary screening by the plane before boarding.
Flew HKG-SFO back in January, and had to drink up all the beer accidentally sneaked out of RCC at the secondary screening checkpoint. No liquids other than 3-1-1 compliant. Empty bottles were allowed through.
