August / September are pretty far off at this stage. I would expect that the unrest, should it continue until that time, will cause airlines to start pulling back service or changing their schedules. Even without the unrest, the travel dates are far enough off that a schedule change is likely. If TK changes its schedule you can get a refund. If you need to get the refund sooner, then I'm not sure what you can do other than pay the redeposit fee.

This is a risk I hadn't really thought about with respect to using US miles to travel to places that US doesn't service. They really don't have any reason to issue travel alerts or monitor conditions in other parts of the world.
