Well it might be a moot point or I might be in a VDB situation.
Just checked. If I take the earlier flight from IAD-ORD I would have 2 options before the Embraer for the ORD-GRR:
2:25 which is a CR7
4:15 which is a 319
Alas, the 2:25 is sold out in Y, but does have F; however, I'd need to book into Y to get it (which if someone got upgraded could happen, but the only way). The 319 is zero across the board.
Which brings me to my Embraer which is also now at this point zeroed out, so I take it - or if they offer a VDB, I go on the last flight of the day which is a 320 & right now wide open (although it gets me in late & would be one VERY long day).
Flights are not normally that booked, but since the ORD-GRR & GRR-ORD yest & today had flights cancelled a lot, and they run a combo of E145, CR7, and 319/320 on that route, they're trying to get the folk who got cancelled onto the other flights.
I'm thinking if I can get LHR to switch me to the 12:27 ORD flight, at least I'd be in ORD & have more options. Today's flight from LHR to IAD landed early, so if it did that tomorrow I'd probably make the earlier flight.
Decisions, decisions...
