I've been meaning to mention a little tidbit I overheard at the ATL TDC, and this seems an appropriate moment. If you aren't familiar w/ ATL, the main security c/p has about 7 TDC podiums lined up, so you would approach one while standing immediately next to another.

Once while standing in line for my return, I overheard a bizarre conversation with a gentleman standing at the one next to me. The agent at the podium said, "Well, it's a driver's license. It isn't really valid ID. It only permits you to drive in your own state." No lie.
