My cousin, who is SE, redeemed miles for another cousin to go YYZ-PHX r/t. Even booking 18 days in advance, the return, AC 590 on 28Feb, was already under airport control for seating...does this seem normal for that advance time frame, on a weekday, non-holiday? They eventually found him a window, which is bound to inconvenience the pax in B and C since he takes medication for kidney stones and will kick their shins every 45min as he goes to the washroom...a supervisor placed a SSR remark about this in the file and perhaps PHX will place him in any aisle seat they can find, including up-front...but it just seems strange, unless there is some sort of group movement aboard, for such traffic figures on a Monday. They have been going to PHX around the same time every year since 1998 without any comparable seat assignment difficulties.
