I stayed in HI Birmingham Airport, and paid £15 for 24 hour access. I checked out but returned to the hotel that afternoon - I had been disconnected!

When I asked at reception, they said it was a different provider in the lobby, and I would have to pay again - I argued the point that I had paid for 24 hour access, and received barely half that, and I was not willing to pay. Eventually, they gave me one hour free.

It is a shocking and pathetic 'tax' for the BT, to charge for internet access, and even more pathetic when they have two different providers! I think PC should sort this out - Platinum memebrs get free access, and access in the lobby should be free at all times.

WiFi seems to be an excuse for UK hotels to print money - where I would turn it into a key selling point - free WiFi, I am sure, would attract smaller companies.
