So I did some more research.... SWU only on PAID fares.... so not able to use on reward travel.

Looked up the upgrade fees..... and looks like EWR-PAris (CO56) is a BusFirst market, so the upgrade fee is $450 each way on a W fare!!!? So 30K miles plus $900 if I want to upgrade??

So the best bet is to use SWUs if they are available? (I never did this before, just make 100K last year)


My only other question i guess, is can you use SWU if you buy a ticket at Amextravel.com, use cash and/or MR points to pay, and then still use SWU? I know you earn OP miles if you do this.
