I just stayed at the Holiday Inn Express two weeks ago. Place is located a couple of highway exits south of FRA in Moerfelden. Pretty basic place but clean and with decent rates. I think they have a shuttle that you have to prebook and pay for (I always have a car so I'm not sure.) I've stayed there twice now and have had no issues. Yes they have a shuttle, it does not have to be pre-booked on the pick up at FRA. Pick up is free, 5 -7 Euro or so for the return trip to the airport. Despite an early arrival, they had no problem getting me a room well before the regular check in time (based on availability, I had to wait awhile as it was being cleaned). Breakfast is very good as mentioned. Despite it's isolated location, there is a great place to go for a walk in the forested area nearby (left out of the reception and then another left down the street and then a right near the small lake). There is one restaurant as well, about 200 meters down the street as you look out of the reception. You can also get some basic food at the hotel as well. Overall, a nice HI Express airport hotel (about 15 minutes away from FRA).
